Privacy Policy

- We collect what the app needs to work: your email, your name and what you add.
- No ads, no tracking, and we don’t sell your data.
- AI features are optional, only run when you tap them, and are never available on kids’ accounts.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from the app at any time.
Kinday (“the app”) is made by Kand (“we”, “us”), reachable at [email protected]. This policy explains what the app collects, why, where it goes and how you can delete it.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, used to send you sign-in codes. You don’t need to create a password.
- Your display name and avatar colour.
- Your language and appearance settings.
What you put in the app
Tasks, lists, notes, tags, calendar events, time blocks, reminders, habits, routines, goals and progress, focus sessions, comments, circle memberships, chores, points and rewards. This is stored so it can sync between your devices and with the people you share a circle with.
Kids’ profiles
A parent can create a kid profile with a first name, a colour and optionally a birth year. Kids don’t give an email address; a parent pairs their device with a one-time code. A kid’s data is visible to the adults in their family circle.
Device information
If you allow notifications, we store your device’s push token so we can notify you about things like a chore waiting for approval. The app doesn’t collect your location, contacts, photos or advertising ID.
Your phone’s calendar (optional)
If you turn on “Show device calendars”, the app reads your phone’s calendars on the device to show them next to your plans. Those events aren’t uploaded. If you use “Plan my day with AI”, only the start and end times of busy slots are sent — not their titles.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, sync your data and share what you choose with your circles.
- To send notifications and sign-in emails.
- For optional AI features, only when you tap them (see below).
We don’t sell your data, show ads or use tracking or analytics tools.
Who processes your data
- Supabase — database, sign-in and server functions; hosted in the United States.
- PowerSync — keeps your devices in sync.
- SendGrid — sends sign-in code emails.
- Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — deliver push notifications.
- Anthropic — only for optional AI features. When you tap an AI feature, the text involved (for example a brain dump or today’s task titles) is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to produce a result. AI features aren’t available on kids’ accounts.
Planning suggestions (Plan it, Auto-schedule, learned durations) are worked out on your device and aren’t sent anywhere.
Sharing inside the app
Anything you add to a circle — shared lists, events, goals, chores — is visible to that circle’s members. Personal lists stay private unless you’re a kid, in which case your family circle’s adults can see them.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept while you have an account. You can delete your account and everything in it from Me → Delete account in the app, or by emailing [email protected] from the address you sign in with. Circles you share with other adults are handed to one of them rather than deleted, and kid profiles are deleted with your account unless another adult in their family looks after them. Deleted data is removed from our servers within 30 days; routine backups expire within a further 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access is limited by database rules so people can only see their own data and what’s shared with them.
Children
Kinday is meant to be set up by adults. Kid profiles are created and controlled by a parent or guardian, who can delete them at any time.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
